24 September 2012

Dear Homefront,

This past week has been alright, rather slow actually.  It's back down to Elder Huntzinger and myself during the week.  Elder Clawson has been asked to work up in the Mission Office for a while.  Our office staff, Sisters Langford and Riendeu finish their mission this transfer and there's a small gap between when they leave and when the new ones come in so Elder Clawson is going to be covering that gap and then training the new office staff on the computer systems we use.

Other than that, not much has changed.  We're kinda back down in the slump of not having too many people to teach.  But we've got some good finding ideas that we're going to try out and hopefully it'll not only yield results but also get the members excited for missionary work.

We also have a tri-zone preparation day planned for later today, hopefully that'll be an enjoyable time.

General Conference is just around the corner, I'm so excited.  As a missionary it's just so amazing.  On the flip side, transfer time is coming up just as quickly.  We'll know next week what's going on.  My chances of being passed over by the destroying angel seem to be getting slimmer.

Hope all's well.  I love you all.

With love,
-Elder John Y. Roberts

PS:  Now to get down to some business.
First point:  We've been counseled to participate in the election so could you please find out what needs to happen to get me an absentee ballot so that I can vote?  The sooner the better on that one, please.
Second item:  You remember that ThinkGeek gift certificate?  A member was checking out some things when we went by to visit and I saw a watch that was cheaper and that I liked a little more than the one we originally were looking at.  Due to it being cheaper and Elder Clawson telling me how I could get some promo codes to make it even cheaper, I could potentially get the watch and something else at the same time.  But it would be easier to get permission from President to do it myself rather than trying to describe it so could you please mail that gift certificate out to me?  I'd be ever so pleased. ;)

Love you lots Mom!
